fact that last night they were saying he would show up. how do you feel about them blocking ambassadors from appearing before official inquiries? first of all, i would just like to say that a nonpartisan, nonpolitical diplomatic corps is essential to the national security of the united states. this is a really terrible situation where career foreign service officers like ambassador yovanovitch and george kent are being put between a rock and a hard place, having to choose between instruction they re getting from secretary poimpeo and from their constitutional duty to answer questions from the legislative branch. and i don t see mr. pompeo sticking up for the career service the way that we would expect him to do. mr. sondland he s a direct line into the white house. i m sure he s getting very high
