Man stabbed while leaving park in Manchester-by-the-Sea; Suspect arrested, police say

A suspect accused of stabbing a man while he was leaving a park in Manchester-by-the-Sea late Sunday has been arrested, according to police.
Police responded to the area of North and School streets around 7:50 p.m. for a report of a man who had been stabbed, Manchester-by-the-Sea Chief of Police Todd Fitzgerald said in a statement.
Officers found the man, who’s in his mid-30s, with multiple stab wounds. He was driven by ambulance to Beverly Hospital with injuries that aren’t believed to be life-threatening, according to the statement.

MANCHESTER-BY-THE-SEA Chief Todd Fitzgerald reports that the Manchester-by-the-Sea Police Department is investigating a stabbing and where a suspect was arrested Sunday night.
At approximately 7:50 p.m. Sunday, Manchester-by-the-Sea Police responded to the area of School Street and North Street for a report of a man who had been stabbed.
Upon arrival, officers located a man in his mid-30s who had suffered multiple stab wounds. The man was taken by ambulance to Beverly Hospital with injuries that are believed to be non-life-threatening.
Revere police arrested the male suspect later Sunday night. He was identified Monday as 23-year-old Raymond Joel Vega-Castro.
Vega-Castro, who has previously lived in Revere, has been charged with armed assault with intent to murder, kidnapping, mayhem, and assault and battery to collect a loan or debt.
Authorities say they are still looking for two more suspects who are believed to have been involved in this incident, which is not believed to have been a random act, Fitzgerald said.
Vega-Castro was brought to the Manchester-by-the-Sea Police Department at 1:45 a.m. and held without bail pending his arraignment, which is expected to be held Monday at Salem District Court. It s unclear if Vega-Castro has an attorney who can speak to the charges he s facing.

A man in his mid-30s was stabbed in Manchester-by-the-Sea on Sunday evening, and a suspect was then arrested by Revere police.
Officers were called to the area near School and North streets around 7:50 p.m. for a reported stabbing, according to a police press release.
On scene, they found a man with multiple stab wounds. He was taken to Beverly Hospital, and his injuries were thought to be nonlife-threatening, the release said.
The suspect was arrested later that night, according to the release. Police believe the stabbing happened inside a vehicle as it was leaving Masconomo Park, which is near where the victim was found.
