college belfast. she s a recent recipient of a guggenheim fellowship and is president are just finishing as president of the southern history society association. she has edited or co-edited or co-authored 25 books, her work has been women in history particularly southern woman in the pre-civil war era as well as during the civil war. her best-known book is mrs. lincoln, a life which solidified her position as the principal defender of mary lincoln and of which a title she is proud i m sure. she was an advisor to the film lincoln as was harold, she recently found most interesting, a project he was involved with is working with the u.s. treasurer and secretary of the treasury to have a woman on the currency.
