Janice Harris and I had lunch together one day this week at the new restaurant were Hardy’s once was. The food was very good. Also, while in town I saw Annie Monday and we had a good chat. Annie and her family were our closest neighbors where we lived up on Dry Branch in Newton County when we were growing up. We had some wonderful times playing together and climbing trees and doing turn overs which we called “Skin the Cat”. Those little trees were kind of bent over from all of that activity. Annie said her sister Mary Dee is having health issues at this time. We are praying that she will have a speedy recovery. My family moved from Newton County to Boone County when I was fourteen years old. So it is always a pleasure when I meet up with one of those Rufus and Lillie Bell Burdine kids.
