The Super Bowl bound Kansas City Chiefs mascot, KC Wolf, entertained patients, employees and visitors to Northeast Regional Medical Center on Wednesday, Feb. 7. The Kansas City Chiefs will meet the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl in Las Vegas this Sunday.
The Kirksville City Council, at their Feb. 5 meeting, tabled discussion on a resolution authorizing the city manager to negotiate and execute a loan agreement through the city’s revolving loan fund to provide financing to Community Opportunities, Inc., after learning of the business s closure.
The Kirksville Area Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Nightshade Tattoo and Body Piercing, 208 N. Franklin Street in Kirksville, on Tuesday, Jan. 30. The shop offered refreshments and coffee to attendees of the event. According to their Facebook page, they opened on Dec. 29 of last year and are open everyday from 10-4 except Tuesday.
Kirksville Regional Airport Director Jeff LaFountain, gave a report to the Kirksville City Council on the current status of airport service provider Contour Airlines and its reliability providing for the Kirksville market at a study session held on Jan. 8. Contour Airlines took over the essential air service role previously filled by Cape Air, on Aug. 1 of last year. The airline provides flights to Chicago’s O’Hare Airport.
The Kirksville City Council passed an ordinance approving the city’s 2024 budget at their Dec. 18 regular meeting. According to Finance Director Lacy A. King, the budget covers all municipal operations and services provided by the city.
