Refinery gets behind music with local legend

Sunshine Coast Council Sunshine Coast creatives will benefit from the experience and passion of multi-talented dynamo Clare Bowditch, at an event held to be held on Friday 14 May at Maroochydore, as part of Council’s The Refinery creative arts incubator program. Clare Bowditch is an international artist, actor, entrepreneur, best-selling author and the founder of Big Hearted Business, a website and micro-movement, supporting people to make a living doing what they love. She is also a mentor and special guest as part of this year’s Refinery program, which supports entrepreneurs to transform creative ideas into sustainable businesses. The event, ‘Clare Bowditch in conversation with Andrea Kirwin’ takes a look at Ms Bowditch’s vision and journey from musician to author to inspirational speaker at the MET, Maroochydore.

Five Coast suburbs slated for paid parking revealed

Premium Content Subscriber only Sunshine Coast Council has spruiked the benefits of paid parking after mapping out proposed options for public transport and 12 new parking facilities. The draft options analysis mass transit report maps out how public transport could link the Coast in the future. The proposal shows potential mass transit routes, regional rail extensions, high frequency and feeder bus networks and five new Park ‘n’ Ride facilities. A carpark with up to 1000 spaces and bus transfer facility is also proposed to be located adjacent to the Bundilla Station. A council spokesman said the State Government would be responsible for constructing and operating the Park ‘n’ Ride facilities proposed in the report.
