Henry County woman killed in farming accident

NEW CASTLE, Ind. A Henry County woman was killed Friday in a farming-related accident. According to Indiana State Police, Barbara Smith, 76, became trapped in a grain bin Friday afternoon when she and her husband, James Smith, 81, were loading corn at their farm in the 4800 block of West Ind. 234. James Smith called emergency dispatchers to report he could not find his wife and feared she might have been trapped inside the bin. Emergency responders searched for about two hours before finding the victim in the grain bin, which contained between eight and 10 feet of corn, according to an ISP press release.
