HTC was 'ahead of its time' in launching a blockchain phone just as Samsung introduces Blockchain Wallet

Source: HTC As more industries adopt cryptocurrency as a legitimate payment service, more mainstream smartphone companies are likely to incorporate technology that will make it easier for users to hold and trade crypto, experts say. On May 13, Samsung announced that blockchain users will be able to manage and trade virtual assets from third-party wallets on Samsung Galaxy smartphones. Samsung said that users who hold crypto on select cold hardware wallets (like the Ledger Nano S and Ledger Nano X) will be able to import them into the Samsung Blockchain Wallet, which uses software that will let them manage their wallet. A crypto wallet is a device or app that allows users to store and retrieve their digital assets.

E-Commerce Grows Steadily in Taiwan Amid Pandemic - Taiwan Business TOPICS

E-Commerce Grows Steadily in Taiwan Amid Pandemic COVID-19 has given a modest boost to online shopping in Taiwan, with platforms such as Momo, PChome, and Shopee strengthening their market positions. In a world struggling with the coronavirus pandemic, Taiwan is an outlier. The island nation has staved off the mercurial contagion, with dramatic implications for public health and the economy. One of the biggest business stories of the past year has been the abrupt shift in many countries from physical to online retail. For instance, the e-commerce market in the U.S. grew 44% in 2020 while in Indonesia it expanded by 37%. Physical retailers have been the losers in many cases, as the new shopping habits are here to stay.

Expansion Plan by World's Largest Contract Chipmaker Won't Ease Global Shortage: Experts - New Delhi Times

April 10, 2021 Share Plans by the world’s largest contract chipmaker for a record $100 billion capacity expansion will just mildly dent a growing worldwide shortage of semiconductors for gear such as high-speed notebook computers, 5G smartphones and newer vehicles, tech experts believe. Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. said in an April 1 legal notice to the Taipei stock exchange that it would use the money over three years on “leading technology” for manufacturing and R&D to “answer demands from the market.” The notice specifically cites demand for chips used in 5G-enabled and high-performance devices. That amount would set a dollar-value record for the company, which is better known as TSMC, said Brady Wang, an analyst in Taipei with the market intelligence firm Counterpoint Research.
