Two men from Texas made a court appearance to confront drug-possession and firearms-related charges in connection with a deadly shootout at a motorcycle rally in northern New Mexico that left three people dead. Authorities say three men were killed and five people wounded during Saturday’s shootout between rival gangs in the mountain resort town of Red River. Prosecutors on Tuesday requested detention without bail for 39-year-old Matthew Charles Jackson and Christopher Garcia as investigations into the shooting continue. Jackson pleaded not guilty to a charge of carrying a firearm in a liquor establishment. Jackson and Garcia denied drug-possession charges.
