As Sergeant Lunger got out of the car and approached the drivers side of the vehicle, the driver shot Sergeant Lunger without warning. A second officer in a separate vehicle had also responded and returned fire as the pickup raced away. The second officer used his radio to alert dispatchers. Shots fired shots fired white chevy truck. Hes still going white Chevy Silverado truck, i copy. Set fire, and my partner down. Partner down. Whos down . Sergeant lunger is down. Within a couple of hours, the bullet riddled pickup truck was found abandoned in east oakland. Sergeant lunger was taken to the medical facility. He had died from his injuries. Up above you have some firefighters in those helicopters doing water drops as we speak to make sure that this fire doesnt flair back up in this particular area. The fire came close to a lot of these homes, dangerously close. But in the end crews were able to save all of them. You can see it got up under there.
