CASPER, Wyo. Wyoming’s U.S. Rep. Liz Cheney said in a press release Thursday that she is “honored to have been named to serve on the January 6th select committee.”
The Hill reported on Thursday morning that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi had named Cheney to serve on the select committee that will investigate the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.
Cheney, who has faced criticism from within her own party for her criticism of former President Donald Trump, said Thursday that the investigation is necessary to ensure that people responsible for the insurrection are held accountable.
