A U.S. Labor Department report released Tuesday pegs the March U.S. annual inflation rate at 8.5%, the highest since 1981. Utah and other mountain states share a nation-leading rate of 10.4% as rising costs of basic necessities continue to drive the surge.
While the 8.5% inflation rate is the U.S. overall average, Utah and other Mountain West states saw annual inflation increase at a nation-leading 10.4%.
Inflation continues to rise at a record-setting pace and hit a 12-month rate of 8.5% in March, according to a report issued Tuesday by the U.S. Department of Labor.
