Virginia Cookie Stringfellow of Irondequoit says she has had experiences with extraterrestrials spanning over 40 years. One by one, a few dozen members of the New York Chapter of the Mutual U.F.O. Network logged into the organization’s monthly virtual meeting on the third Wednesday in April. It was a proud moment for the group, a nonprofit composed of civilian volunteers who study reported sightings of unidentified flying objects. Two of its members, Virginia Stringfellow, of Irondequoit, who goes by “Cookie,” and Chris DePerno, a retired police detective from Syracuse and the chapter’s assistant director, had been recently featured in
Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) could not identify the blue aircraft that plunged into the sea off the coast of Hawaii last December. In an Air Traffic Mandatory Occurrence Report, the FAA said that there was no active training in the area at the time. It also reported that none of its pilots could have possibly deviated from the protocol.
A resident named Moriah saw the unidentified flying object (UFO) hovering above her house in Oahu at around 8:30 p.m, Dec. 29. The 38-year-old and her husband hopped in their car and gave chase. After less than three miles, the UFO stopped and vanished into the water, she said.

The space agency’s Perseverance Rover is due to touch down today after making the 293 million mile journey from Earth to Mars. The probe will buzz across the Martian sky at 12,000mph, before slowing itself down by deploying a 70-foot-wide parachute and setting in a crater littered with boulders. If all goes to plan, Perseverance will successfully complete its mission this evening at around 8.43pm, and will soon start work on to determine whether the planet was once habitable.

The frozen desert serves as a scientific haven for more than 1,000 researchers around the year, who monitor climate change and study Earth’s history. Its barren landscape gives them access to an unspoilt world, where they can complete their research, despite temperatures dropping to as low as -90C. The conditions in parts of the region are so harsh that scientists rarely visit them, instead using satellite data to complete their work.
