Generation, a HBO Max series created by writer-director Daniel Barnz (
Phoebe in Wonderland,
Cake) and his teenage daughter, Zelda, accentuates the comedy of teenage naivety, even as it seeks out the gaps in its young characters’ armor, sliding its skewers into their deepest wounds and vulnerabilities.
