We swung the bats very aggressively, put the ball in play and made them make plays defensively.” Adi Prior led the way for the Yellowjackets with two singles and a double. Local roundup: Mascoma softball sweeps Lebanon Mara Isham Modified: 4/14/2021 10:09:54 PM Staff Reports WEST CANAAN Don’t tell anyone around the Mascoma High softball team that the offense will be the last thing to come around after a year away from the diamond. Two days after putting up double digits in a season-opening win at Lebanon, the Royals made it a sweep with a 10-8 victory over the Raiders on Wednesday. Mascoma (2-0) slapped out nine hits and got two-hit performances from four batters two of whom delivered home runs to get the win. “The girls have shown up this week, stepping up to the plate and filling the holes left by seniors who were touring colleges,” Mascoma coach Chris Thurston said. “Now we are looking forward to next week’s games against Hanover, when the team is back to full strength.”
