India started with its first vaccination drive in January for all health workers. In its second vaccination drive, the government approved inoculation of everyone over the age of 60 and people over age 45 but with co-morbidities.
In the third phase of vaccination drive, the government approved shots for all citizens above the age of 45. The COVID-19 vaccine is administered in two shots where the first jab is given after a gap of three to four weeks form the first shot.
