Supreme Court holds full court reference on retirement of Justice Malik

ISLAMABAD: A Full Court Reference was held here on Friday in the Supreme Court on the eve of retirement of Justice Manzoor Ahmed Malik, Judge of the Supreme Court.
The reference was attended by all the judges of the Supreme Court, Attorney General for Pakistan, President Supreme Court Bar Association and large number of lawyers. Addressing the Full Court Reference, Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Gulzar Ahmed while paying rich tributes said that tireless contributions of Justice Manzoor Ahmed Malik to the cause of justice and especially to the criminal jurisprudence has forged the path for generations of legal practitioners to come to be inspired by and motivated.

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Friday directed the government to answer the question whether Justice Qazi Faez Isa had any legal connections regarding money trail for purchasing properties in the United Kingdom (UK).
A 10-member larger bench of the apex court, headed by Justice Umer Ata Bandial, resumed hearing in the identical review petitions against its last year order of June 19, referring the matter to the Federal Board of Revenue, directing to initiate tax proceedings against the spouse and children of Justice Qazi Faez Isa.
The court directed Additional Attorney General Aamir Rehman to submit answers on the next date of hearing Monday April 26 to its three questions earlier posed to Justice Qazi Faez Isa if he had any legal connections regarding the money trail for purchasing properties in the United Kingdom (UK).

ISLAMABAD: The federal government on Wednesday told the Supreme Court that it will oppose the live broadcast of review petition filed by Justice Qazi Faez Isa against the apex court s judgment of June 19, 2020 to the extent of directions given to the Federal Board of Revenue after the full court quashed the Presidential Reference filed against the judge.
A 10-member larger bench, headed by Justice Umer Ata Bandial, heard the application in the review petition filed by Justice Qazi Faez Isa seeking live broadcast of the proceedings.
Other members of the bench include Justice Maqbool Baqir, Justice Manzoor Ahmed Malik, Justice Sajjad Ali Shah, Justice Mazhar Alam Miankhel, Justice Muneeb Akhtar, Justice Mansoor Ali Shah, Justice Sajjad Ali Shah, Justice Qazi Muhammad Amin Ahmed, Justice Yahya Afridi and Justice Amin Uddin Khan.
