Tacloban City (CNN Philippines, December 18) Biliran Governor Rogelio Espina on Friday said he tested positive for COVID-19 after exposure to two infected staff members.
The governor and his wife, Dr. Cecil Espina, went through RT-PCR testing on Wednesday after two employees working in his office were diagnosed with the coronavirus disease. The test done on me and Dra. Cecil last Wednesday revealed positive results today, Espina said in a Facebook post, adding they are both asymptomatic and have been under quarantine.
The infected employees also do not exhibit any symptoms while under isolation, Espina added.
Contact tracing is underway to identify those who had close contact with them.

In a social media post on Friday night, Mayor Alfred Romualdez said he was grateful for everyone who prayed for his good health, and sent him messages of concern.
Romualdez asked his nurse to take a picture of him signing documents for the city to assure the public that he was up and about doing his work as mayor.

Tacloban City (CNN Philippines, December 10) Tacloban Mayor Alfred Romualdez tested positive for COVID-19, city officials announced on Thursday.
City Health Officer Gloria Fabrigas said the 58-year-old mayor got tested on Dec. 8 after showing symptoms, including sore throat and slight fever.
We are monitoring him because meron po siyang comorbidities, kasi meron siyang hypertension. We have to isolate him kasi meron po siyang sintomas na sore throat and fatigue, Fabrigas told a media briefing led by City Administrator Aldrin Quebec.
[Translation: We are monitoring him because he has comorbidities, he has hypertension. We have to isolate him because he has symptoms, including sore throat and fatigue.]

+ December 10, 2020 THE City Government of Tacloban confirmed on Thursday, December 10, that Mayor Alfred Romualdez has tested positive for Sars-CoV-2, which causes the coronavirus disease (Covid-19).
The mayor is experiencing mild symptoms and in stable condition, according to Acting City Health Officer Dr. Gloria Fabrigas.
Romualdez started experiencing the symptoms last December 2 and his swab test showed a positive result on December 10.
In a statement, Fabrigas said Romualdez is in isolation while contact tracing is now underway.
Meanwhile, Tacloban Vice Mayor Jerry Yaokasin urged the public to pray for the health and safety of the mayor.
