A FAMILY has been left divided by allegations that a young girl was molested and raped by her gogo’s husband.
On Wednesday, 21 July, it emerged in Mankweng Regional Court, Limpopo, that the 55-year-old gogo would be testifying against her 11-year-old granddaughter in support of her 59-year-old husband. The victim’s mum (33) told Daily Sun she was devastated and shocked that the child’s gogo was not supporting her.
She said when the allegations first came out, her mum wanted the matter to be resolved within the family.
“Since this rape happened, I’m no longer speaking to my mother. Since the beginning of last year, she has wanted us to resolve this matter within the family but I went to open a case at Makweng Police Station,” she said.

One of the men, a 36-year-old from the Ngwanallela Village was handed a life sentence on Tuesday for attacking a six-year-old girl in 2018.
In the other case, the Mankweng Regional Court slapped two life sentences on a 25-year old from Ga-Dikgale for raping his 12-year-old niece at least twice.
