The institute appointed Saibal Chattopadhyay as its director-in-charge, replacing Sahadeb Sarkar who took charge just two months ago. IIM-Calcutta had earlier received a written complaint under POSH Act against Sarkar.

Saibal Chattopadhyay has taken over as in-charge director, according to the B-school’s website. Institute sources said Sarkar had resigned as he was unhappy with certain decisions of the board of governors, chaired by Shrikrishna G. Kulkarni

Sahadeb Sarkar has a PhD in statistics from Iowa State University, USA. He joined the Operations Management group of IIM Calcutta in 1997. Before that, he was an associate professor with tenure at Oklahoma State University, USA. He has also served as a visiting professor at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, USA.
