The Department of Justice (DoJ) has filed a perjury case against Peter Joemel Advincula, alias “Bikoy,” over lies he allegedly stated in his testimonies concerning the “Ang Totoong Narcolist” video series.
The DoJ filed the case last Jan. 12 before the Manila Metropolitan Trial Court (MeTC) after finding probable cause to indict him with perjury based on the complaint filed by Free Legal Assistance Group (FLAG) lawyers former Quezon Rep. Lorenzo “Erin” Tanada, Jose Manuel “Chel” Diokno, and former Supreme Court (SC) spokesperson Theodore Te.
“After a careful examination of the above affidavits and evidence attached thereto, the undersigned finds that there is sufficient evidence to conclude that the crime of violation of Articles 183 of the RPC (Revised Penal Code) has been committed,” the DoJ said in a resolution signed by Assistant State Prosecutor Ferdinand Fernandez with the approving signatures of Prosecutor General Bene
