As of this writing, the city government of Manila has already begun distributing its fourth batch of monthly food boxes as part of our Food Security Program (FSP) aimed at alleviating hunger in the city brought about by lost jobs during the pandemic.
To date, 380,000 of the total 700,000 families in the city have already received their food allocation comprising of staples like rice, coffee and canned goods.
I and Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna have decisively set aside certain infrastructure projects and instead embarked on a food security program that would prioritize feeding the residents in consideration of the fact that countless have lost their jobs and businesses due to the worldwide pandemic.

The Manila City government has completed its distribution of the financial assistance from the national government in 35 days to those who were adversely affected by the implementation of the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) to stop the spread of COVID-19.

The Manila Department of Social Welfare (MDSW) led the distribution to 380,820 family beneficiaries that each received P4,000.

CALOOCAN CITY, May 12 (PIA) The Manila City Government, through its Manila Department of Social Welfare (MDSW), is almost done distributing the financial aid or ayuda to its constituents courtesy of the National Government.
MDSW Director Re Fugoso said that it has finished distributing financial assistance to 99 percent of its total beneficiaries as of Sunday, May 9, or 33 days since the start of its operation last April 6.
“Tuloy-tuloy po ang pagkilos ng ating social workers, daycare workers, at iba pang kawani ng MDSW upang matiyak na makukuha ng mga Batang Maynila ang kanilang benepisyo mula sa national government,” Fugoso said while noting that about 377,010 families have already received its financial assistance.

In a Facebook post on Tuesday (April 27), Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso said the seized meat did not have Meat Inspection Certificates (MICs). This violates the Republic Act No. 9296 or the Meat Inspection Code of the Philippines, which assures the safety and quality of meat products both in the domestic and international markets.
