BJP MLA Girish Gautam was elected as Speaker of the Madhya Pradesh Assembly on the first day of the State Budget session, Feb 22 (ANI)
Girish Gautam, a four-term BJP MLA from Deotalab in Rewa district, filed his nomination for the post of speaker of the Madhya Pradesh assembly on February 21. With his election to the post, the BJP has attempted to address the issue of underrepresentation of the Vindhya region in the state government.
