On May 26, 2021, area law enforcement agencies concluded a 40 hour Crisis Intervention Team training course held at Houston storm shelter. Law enforcement officers from the Texas County Sheriff’s Office, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Ozark County Sheriff’s Office, Cabool Police Department, Houston Police Department, Licking Police Department, along with the Texas County Public Administrator’s Office and the Texas County Health department attended the training.

UNION COUNTY â Union County voters approved a levy to control weeds and elected several new members to school boards.
Turnout in the county stands at 24.8% for the Tuesday, May 18, special elections, a return of 4,708 out of a total of 18,959 ballots, according to the unofficial results from the Oregon Secretary of State. That s is in line with the turnout statewide, which was a little better than 24.6%.Â

Fisher wins, Beck lead in race for Imbler School Board
IMBLER â Joseph Joe Fisher is taking a seat on the Imbler School Board, and and Jason Beck is in the lead to join him. Both races tightened as the night wore on.
COVE â Two men, both optimistic about the Cove School Districtâs future, are vying for an opportunity to help guide the school district the next four years.
Chris Thew, an athletic trainer, is challenging incumbent Andy Lindsey, a civil engineer, in a race for Position 1 on the Cove School Board. This is the only contested school board race this year in the Cove School District.
Lindsey, who works for Anderson Perry & Associates Inc., is completing his fifth year on the school board. He said he decided to seek reelection because he wants to help the school district keep moving in the right direction.
