BCT to stage trio of online play readings

Bangkok Community Theatre will keep those stuck at home entertained during the new wave of the Covid-19 pandemic by presenting three evening online play readings on three consecutive Tuesdays from today to Feb 2 at 7.30pm, on Zoom.
All BCT members and guests are invited to take turns reading, or only listening and watching if they want, The Man Who Came To Dinner today. A 1933 comedy in three acts by George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart, the play is set in the small town of Mesalia, Ohio, in the weeks leading to Christmas in the late 1930s.

The 1950s in Ireland is often typified as a lost decade. While there are many valid reasons to support this, it can also be seen as a decade of cultural transition. For example, a new generation of theatre-makers emerged with new ideas, energy and a vision for Ireland’s cultural renewal. But who were they? And how are their efforts remembered today?
