Picture by Miera Zulyana KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 23 A total of 11 new Covid-19 clusters were recorded by the Health Ministry today, eight of which involved workplaces. Of the workplace clusters, three were in Johor, two were in Sabah, and one each were in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Melaka. In a statement today, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said Terengganu recorded two new clusters, one involving religious activity, and another involving an outbreak among a local community.

During his daily briefing, Dr Noor Hisham did not directly answer questions on whether the travel ban should be reintroduced but admitted that a more targeted approach was needed in allowing travel within certain states.

Picture by Shafwan Zaidon KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 30 The Ministry of Health said today it has recorded 1,870 new Covid-19 infections, with Johor topping the list at 607, bringing the total number of infections in Malaysia to 110,485 cases. Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said this leaves the number of active cases still being treated at 22,562. “Of today’s cases, two are import cases in which the infection occurred abroad, while the remaining 1,868 occurred domestically,” he said in a statement.
