The Left's Domestic 'War on Terror' Traces to the SPLC

Some on the Left seem to want a domestic "War on Terror" aimed at silencing dissent from leftist orthodoxy. Where did they get that idea?

Gabbard: Dems' New War on Terror Will Target Conservatives

AP Photo/John Minchillo Former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii) raised the alarm about the Democrats’ disturbing crackdown on “domestic terrorism” in the wake of the Capitol riot on January 6. She warned that the domestic terror bill that House Democrats have proposed would “undermine our constitutional rights and freedoms,” and lead to law enforcement targeting “almost half of the country.” “We don’t have to guess about where this goes or how this ends,” Gabbard said, ominously, in an interview with Fox News on Friday. “When you have people like former CIA Director John Brennan openly talking about how he’s spoken with or heard from appointees and nominees in the Biden administration who are already starting to look across our country for these types of movements similar to the insurgencies they’ve seen overseas, that in his words, he says make up this ‘unholy alliance’ of religious extremists, racists, bigots, he lists a few others and at the end, eve

Pro-Life Icon Dies at 93 After Long Supreme Court Battle

C-SPAN screenshot of Joseph Scheidler, founder of the Pro-Life Action League Joseph Scheidler, an early leader and icon of the pro-life movement, passed away on Monday at the age of 93. He began the fight against abortion shortly after the Roe v. Wade decision in 1973 and founded the Pro-Life Action League in 1980 to recruit and equip pro-life Americans to speak out for unborn children. Yet Scheidler also fought a decades-long court battle for his right to free speech in opposition to the abortion industry, a battle that birthed the Thomas More Society. “My father’s proudest accomplishment was the pro-life work of those he inspired to take an active role in the fight against abortion, the greatest injustice of our time,” Eric Scheidler, Joe’s oldest son and executive director of the Pro-Life Action League, said in a statement Monday. “For years, people have been telling me about the talk or protest where they met my father, and how his words and example prompted them t

Parler Will Be Down for Longer Amid Big Tech Onslaught

(Parler screenshot) Parler, which emerged as a Twitter alternative for conservatives, officially went offline on Monday after Amazon Web Services refused to host the site any longer. Following the Capitol riots on Wednesday, Apple and Google removed Parler from their app stores, claiming the site had refused to take down posts inciting violence. On Saturday, Amazon announced it would follow suit after employees pressured the company to remove Parler. Parler saved its data and prepared to switch to a different provider, but on Monday, Parler CEO John Matze announced the process would take longer than expected. “I wanted to send everyone on Parler an update,” Matze posted. “WE will likely be down longer than expected. This is not due to software restrictions we have our software and everyone’s data ready to go. Rather it’s that Amazon’s, Google’s, and Apple’s statements to the press about dropping our access has caused most of our other vendors to drop their support

Military Mulls Ban on 'Hate Groups,' Report Cites SPLC

SPLC website screenshot of its 2019 hate map. Joe Biden may not yet be president, but it seems the military may already be considering a policy banning servicemembers from activities sponsored by conservative and Christian organizations. Last week, Acting Secretary of Defense Christopher Miller acted on a report from the Department of Defense’s (DoD) Diversity and Inclusion Board. Among other things, the board recommended that official policy “prohibit extremist or hate group activity,” citing the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) on the influence of “hate groups” in the military. This should ring alarm bells for conservatives familiar with the SPLC’s antics.
