Muscat: The National Museum will inaugurate a corner dedicated to the memory of the late His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said.
The Sultanate, represented by the National Museum, is celebrating this year the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the House of “Al-Amani” Museum, as the first Omani museum to deal with the cultural heritage in Zanzibar.
His Excellency Jamal bin Hassan Al Mousawi, Secretary General of the National Museum said in an interview with Oman News Agency (ONA): The museum will inaugurate a corner bearing the name of the late Sultan Qaboos Bin Said bin Taimur, and a number of historical houses in Muscat will be rehabilitated to form an integrated cultural and tourism system.

MUSCAT: The Board of Trustees of the National Museum today held its seventh meeting under the chairmanship of Salim Mohammed Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism, Chairman of the National Museum’s Board of Trustees.
The original manuscript of “Kitāb al-fawāid fī ilm al-bahr wa-al-qawāid” or (The Book of the Benefits of the Principles and Foundations of Seamanship), by the Omani navigator Ahmad bin Majid Al Sa’adi was inaugurated in the Maritime History gallery under the patronage of Salim Mohammed Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Culture and Tourism. The manuscript is loaned from the Al Assad National Library in the Syrian Arab Republic.
