Will a curfew help get the pandemic under control in Quebec?
Starting Saturday, residents in much of Quebec will be prohibited from going outside at night. A new curfew from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. will run for four weeks the first of its kind in Canada since the coronavirus pandemic was declared.
The head of the intensive care unit at Montreal's Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital says there aren't enough human resources to care for influx of patients.

Lara Michelle Adaszkiewicz came into this world Friday at 70 seconds past midnight. Weighing in at 8.9 pounds, she is the first child of Montrealers Aleksandra Modelewska and Martin Adaszkiewicz.

Modelewska says the couple went directly to the hospital early Thursday after her water broke around 3:30 a.m. Neither expected their daughter to wait until the New Year to make her grand entrance.
MONTREAL A birth, reported at 8 a.m. Friday, may change the identity of the first baby to be born in Quebec in 2021. The delivery room at Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital in Montreal says a baby boy named Arthur was born at midnight sharp. The child weighed 7.23 pounds and is the son of Genevieve Beaulieu and Logan Allen, who welcomed their first child to the world. It seems that the birth was long overdue. A spokesperson at the hospital confirmed that Arthur is happy and healthy. A few hours earlier, the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) in Montreal reported that a little girl was born in at midnight, one minute and 10 seconds. Little Lara Michelle Adaszkiewicz, weighing 8.9 pounds, is the daughter of Aleksandra Modelewska and Martin Adaszkiewicz.
