A Boogie Sued For $260K In Damages To Mahwah Rental Home: Lawsuit

(Photo by Earl Gibson III/Getty Images) MAHWAH, NJ A Mahwah couple is suing the Bronx rapper A Boogie Wit da Hoodie for over $260,000 in damages caused to their home while the rapper and co-CEO of his label, Quincy Acheampong, were staying there. According to court filings, A Boogie, born Artist Dubose, and Acheampong entered into a lease agreement with Lawrence and Carolyn Guarino, who own a property on Finn Court, in September 2017. Filed by Chubb Insurance Company in Bergen County Superior Court last Wednesday, the lawsuit said Dubose and Acheampong abandoned the property without notice sometime prior to December 2018, leaving significant damage to all areas of the home.

Paramus Hires 10 Officers to Start 2021

PARAMUS, NJ - The borough hired 10 police officers at its final meeting of 2020. The following officers were officially approved by a 4-3 vote at the Dec. 28 council meeting at a starting salary of $45,048. The following biographies were issued by Chief of Police Kenneth Ehrenberg. Jamie Takahashi was born in New York City and is a long time resident of Paramus. Jamie graduated from Paramus High School, and then went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University in economics. Shortly after graduating from college, Jamie was commissioned into the New York Army National Guard as a Transportation Officer. Jamie is presently a 1st Lieutenant and assigned as the Executive Officer for the 719th Composite Truck Company. In 2017, Jamie joined the Paramus Volunteer Fire Department and became a Special 1 Police Officer with the Borough of Paramus.  Jamie then attended and graduated from the Morris County Police Academy in 2018. Jamie speaks both Korean and Japanese.

Man Charged With Aggravated Assault After Car Chase In Mahwah

UpdatedTue, Dec 15, 2020 at 10:55 am ET Reply (Shutterstock) MAHWAH, NJ A Connecticut man is facing multiple charges, including aggravated assault, after authorities said he and a driver led a New Jersey State trooper on a multi-county chase Sunday and then pointed a gun at the trooper. Tyree Newell, 20, of Bridgeport was charged with aggravated assault, possession of hollow-point ammunition, possession of a high-capacity magazine and four counts each of unlawful possession of a weapon, the Office of Attorney General announced on Monday. The driver of the car, Theron Brown, 22, of Bridgeport, also been charged with possessing weapons and ammunition. Brown and Newell were being held at Hudson County jail as of Monday.
