Twitter Unveils Bespoke Emoji Supporting Asia's 'Milk Tea Alliance' – The Diplomat

Advertisement On Thursday, the social media company Twitter announced that it had launched an emoji representing the Milk Tea Alliance, in a gesture of support to the online movement that brings together pro-democracy activists across East and Southeast Asia. The emoji features a cut against a backdrop of three shades of brown, corresponding to the colors of milk tea in Thailand, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, and now automatically appears in any tweet featuring the hashtag in English, Thai, Korean, and several other Asian languages. “To celebrate the first anniversary of the #MilkTeaAlliance we designed an emoji featuring 3 different types of milk tea colors from regions where the Alliance first formed online,” the social media company tweeted from its Twitter Public Policy account.

Prayut’s call comes after numerous members of a youth-led pro-democracy movement have already been charged with allegedly insulting the monarchy, which could land them in prison for decades if convicted.

TCEB Joins Pact with DDC, Education Sector Leveraging MICE Personnel to Empower Businesses During COVID-19

4 December 2020, Bangkok: TCEB in collaboration with Department of Disease Control (DDC) under the Ministry of Public Health and MICE Academic Cluster, has developed and launched training courses to equip DMCs and manpower in MICE and travel industries with knowledge and understanding in the standards of monitoring, control and evaluation of the medication and public health. The aim is to enable them to safely handle and accompany overseas businessmen visiting Thailand under the government’s special arrangement. The training course was organised under the MICE Hygiene Discipline Guidelines project, and run by TCEB from 30 November to 1 December 2020, at IMPACT Muang Thong Thani. The attendants were 33 DMCs (Destination Management Company), who are supposed to produce health-compliant travel plans for overseas businessmen coming to Thailand for investment purposes under the government’s special arrangement.
