A free people doesn't wait on government to do the right thing. But most people seem to think that liberty is about convincing the government to stop doing the things it wasn’t supposed to be doing in the first place.
Supporting liberty is supposed to be more important than supporting government power. In other words, if there is any doubt about government power, you’re supposed to decide in favor of less power and more liberty.
