Darekar has approached the Mumbai sessions court with an anticipatory bail application regarding the FIR registered against him for cheating, conspiracy and bank scam.
The Bombay High Court on Wednesday refused to grant interim protection from arrest to Leader of Opposition in the Maharashtra Legislative Council Pravin Darekar in a case where he is accused of fraudulently contesting a cooperative bank election in the `labour' category.
The BJP has brushed aside allegations of Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut describing it as “baseless” and need not be taken seriously. “The allegations are baseless. it is not based on facts, he had created a hype for the last few days and nothing came out,” said Leader of Opposition in Maharashtra Legislative Council Pravin Darekar. “The trailer itself has flopped,” he said.
