Another coronavirus cluster the third has been detected in Bengaluru in a matter of less than 10 days. Bruhat Bengaluru Mahangara Palike Commissioner N Manjunath Prasad said on Monday that 10 cases were detected in an apartment complex in the city in Bellandur area.
There are nine blocks in the apartment complex housing 1,500 people. Six of these nine blocks have been declared a containment zone by the civic body. The rest three blocks have not reported any new cases.

RT-PCR tests at laboratories along with 14-day institutional quarantine
Following reports of a new variant of
coronavirus, Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare issued an elaborate Standard operation Procedure (SoP) to all state governments to track and monitor visitors from the United Kingdom between December 21 and 23.
Passengers, who test positive for RT-PCR tests at airports, should undergo spike gene-based RT-PCR at an appropriate laboratory. Anyone who tests positive will undergo institutional quarantine in coordination with health authorities while those who have tested negative at airports will remain under home quarantine for 14 days.

Three months into pandemic, in July, the
Bruhat Bengaluru Mahangara Palike had bought two mist cannon machines to spray disinfectants in public places and
containment zones to reduce the spread of
covid and remove the virus from surfaces. Each of these machines cost Rs 56 lakh and the BBMP had plans to purchase 27 more, one for each assembly constituency.
Now with the number of covid cases dropping, the BBMP has found a new use for the machines – pollution control. The Palike has pressed two cannon mist vehicles into service on Ballari Road to reduce air pollution.
