A little over a month after celebrating her 90th birthday, Marla Gibbs, who gained fame in classic TV sitcoms “The Jeffersons” and “227,” on Tuesday got the 2,698th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
“Marla is one of the world’s most beloved and talented actresses known around the world,” Walk of Fame producer Ana Martinez said about the honor, which coincided with July 20, 2021, being officially declared “Marla Gibbs Day” in Hollywood, California.

HOLLYWOOD (CNS) - A star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame star will be unveiled tomorrow honoring five-time Emmy nominated actress Marla Gibbs, best known for portraying sassy maid Florence Johnston on The Jeffersons.
Legendary television producer Norman Lear, who developed The Jeffersons as a spinoff from All in the Family, and Tisha Campbell will join Gibbs in speaking at the 11:30 a.m. ceremony outside the El Capitan Entertainment Centre on Hollywood Boulevard.
Gibbs guest starred as a tough new housekeeper in a 1995 episode of the Fox comedy Martin, whose cast included Campbell.
