Pritzker and the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) on Thursday confirmed the entire state will move into the Bridge Phase of the Restore Illinois reopening plan on Friday, May 14. The Bridge Phase is the final step before the full reopening of Phase 5. The Bridge Phase, there are expanded capacity limits for businesses, dining, offices, events, conferences and gatherings. Restaurants, for example, will be allowed to increase from 25 to 30 percent of capacity, as long as people maintain six feet of distance from one another. Offices, personal care facilities and retail service counters can increase from 50 to 60 percent of capacity.

Same-day scheduling including appointments as soon as one hour from time of scheduling is also available at CVS.com. The company’s COVID-19 vaccine scheduler is updated throughout the day to account for same-day cancellations. The announcement comes two days after Walmart announced it will now offer walk-in COVID-19 vaccinations at all of its Illinois stores. According to the Madison County Health Department, 164,302 COVID-19 vaccinations have been administered in Madison County as of Tuesday. A total of 81,404 county residents or 30.78% of the county’s population is now fully vaccinated for COVID-19.

Late Friday the Madison County Health Department reported the deaths of a woman in her 30s and a woman in her 70s, bringing the total to 496. The Illinois Department of Public Health reported two COVID-19 related deaths recently in a Madison County: a woman in her 30s on Saturday and a man in his 60s on Sunday. There are sometimes discrepancies in the number of cases and deaths reported at the state and local levels, in part because of the volume of cases, and also as each local department forwards the information and it is verified. Local health officials have said the cases eventually reconcile as the reporting catches up.

Early appointments will be available beginning at 8 a.m. Evening appointments up until 6:50 p.m. are available on Monday, April 19, and Tuesday, April 20. Additional dates, times, and locations are available to schedule through April 24. The Pfizer vaccine will be the only one offered at these clinics.

The IDPH on Monday reported a total of 138,848 COVID-19 vaccinations so far have been administered in Madison County. That included 79,954 first doses and 58,894 or 22.27% of the county’s population now fully vaccinated. The Madison County Health Department has said the actual numbers for both vaccination categories are higher than the IDPH figures. The county this week is expanding COVID-19 vaccinations opportunities. In addition to its vaccination clinic at the Gateway Convention Center in Collinsville, the health department is planning vaccinations:
