Credits: Merideoc Burkhardt May 10, 2021 at 9:39 AM Actor and historical interpreter Meridoc “Doc” Burkhardt will present “The Battle of Connecticut Farms and the Death of Hannah Caldwell” at the May 20, 2021 meeting of the Madison Historical Society.  This free online meeting via Zoom will begin at 7 pm. Doc Burkhardt will tell the story of Reverend James Caldwell and of his wife, Hannah’s heroism during the Battle of Connecticut Farms.  In his portrayal of Rev. Caldwell, he will include a video tour of the Caldwell Parsonage, which is now the home of the Union Township Historical Society.  Mr. Burkhardt will be assisted in the presentation by David Arminio who is a retired English teacher in Union Township.  Mr.

"Operation Take Back" Launches In Morris County on April 24

By TAPINTO STAFF Credits: Morris County Gov April 24, 2021 at 10:53 AM MORRISTOWN, NJ - Today is the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration’s 20th National Prescription Drug Take Back Day to help people dispose of potentially harmful prescription drugs. Over a ten-year period, the DEA has collected more than 6,800 tons of prescription drugs. Last year there were 4,153 law enforcement sites participating in National Take Back Day. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there has been an increase in overdose deaths during the COVID-19 pandemic. There were 83,544 Americans who overdosed during the 12 months ending July 1, 2020, the most ever recorded in a 12-month period, according the DEA.
