The Hyve Group has issued a statement announcing the passing of Roger Shashoua, a founder of its legacy business.
The statement reads: “We are saddened to announce that Roger Shashoua, a founder of our legacy business, ITE Group, passed away on Sunday 17 January.
Roger was a titan of our industry. The pioneering work he did throughout his lifetime not only helped to shape this business and the wider exhibition industry, but also marked some of the first steps towards a more connected world as the ‘70s presented a turning point for globalisation.
“As markets began to open, he spotted an opportunity to create a series of businesses in emerging economies, starting with the Middle East in the ‘70s. In the ‘80s he was one of the first to expand into China and then, in the early ‘90s, he founded ITE Group with his brother Roddy, with a focus on Eastern Europe and Russia.

Three more specialist industry events have been moved back due to the ongoing restrictions related to the coronavirus pandemic.
InPrint Munich 2019 attracted 2,755 trade visitors
Converting, paper and print exhibitions ICE Europe, CCE International and InPrint Munich 2021, which were due to take place from 9 to 11 March 2021 at the Munich Trade Fair Centre, Germany, will now run from 22 to 24 June 2021.
The organiser of the events, Mack-Brooks Exhibitions, said the decision was taken “in light of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and continued uncertainties regarding travel restrictions and event planning by the authorities”.
Patrick Herman, event director of converting, paper and print events at Mack-Brooks Exhibitions, said: “Following careful consideration of various options we have come to the decision to hold the shows in June 2021.
