Contrary to earlier assumptions, Apple will not be releasing any new hardware before the end of this year. Reportedly, Apple plans to release at least another four MacBooks between late 2022 and early 2024. New MacBook Pro 14 and MacBook Pro 16 machines are slated to arrive first, with a 15-inch MacBook Air and a 12-inch MacBook due by early 2023 and 2024, respectively.
The expected M2 MacBook Pro will have to cut some corners compared to the recently released Apple MacBook Pro 14 and MacBook Pro 16 according to a noted observer. While the potential MacBook Pro 2022 will be treated to new Apple Silicon, it will have to lose out in features and specs to become an entry-level unit.
It turns out that the MacBook Pro 14 and M1 Pro maintain excellent performance when running Windows 11 in a virtual machine, too. In fact, Apple s new SoC outscores some of the best AMD and Intel laptop processors on the market, despite their advantage of running Windows 11 natively.
