Browsing returns: Rockford Public Library locations to reopen to public
ROCKFORD The city s libraries are ready to reopen to browsing again another step toward a return to regular services but still quite a ways from pre-pandemic operations.
Come Monday, the city s Hart, East and Montague library branches will open their doors, allowing patrons inside to browse through and select materials for checkout and to use computer stations for 45 minutes at a time.
This means no congregating or classroom use, no storytimes or in-person programs. The number of people allowed inside the buildings at all times will be capped.
“We are thrilled to welcome customers back to Rockford Public Library locations,” said Executive Director Lynn Stainbrook. “We are again taking careful consideration to employ protocols that enable us to offer safe, in-person library service.”
