With the kids tonight shes live with their story. Bill many people in that neighborhood in Bedford County have dogs of their own and the people we spoke with say they had never even seen those pit bulls before. Now a their beloved dog and a neighborhood is on edge. 12 17 34 39 40 451 121 17 typical afternoon on boonsboro place when nineyear old alex and Andrey Ostapenko were outside playing with their dog scruffy until suddenly two pit bulls attacked. Alex ostapenko it felt horrible watching our best dog in the world almost being killed that day. Andrey ostapenko it was very scary. But scruffy didnt survive alex and andrey say their furry friend saved their lives. Alex she was a terrier, and she was my favorite dog. Andrey she was very loving, kind dog. Always friendly to everyone and the kids. Very adventurous. Konstantin day after school they come and they feel safe and they play around. Alex and andreys father konstantin called him to tell him what was happening when the dogs attack
The incident left nine people injured and two people hospitalized. I was like not really. [laughter] reporter they can all laugh about it now, but saturdays close call was nothing to smile about. This is very heavy snow and that is causing low visibility near interstate 81 near blacksburg and roanoke. Use caution if youre traveling this weekend.
