Great Parks of Hamilton County says flooding has prompted it to cancel plans to hold a groundbreaking ceremony Monday for the last section of the Little Miami Scenic Trail.
The ceremony for the $7.9 million Beechmont Bridge Connector was to have been held at the terminus of the trail near Ohio 32 and Beechmont Avenue in Anderson Township.
But Great Parks spokeswoman Kimberly Whitton said in an email that, “The trail runs along the Little Miami River, which is currently out of its banks. We do plan to reschedule.”
Workers are already relocating utilities for the Beechmont Bridge Connector, which will stretch half a mile across the Little Miami River and connect with the Lunken Airport Bike Trail as well as the Ohio River Trail to Downtown Cincinnati.
