CTIP Workshop
The CTIP (Counter Trafficking in Persons) of the SACBC conducted a workshop for the people of the Diocese of Mzuzu in the District of Mzimba, Malawi. The aim of the workshop was to train the people who could then go back home to train others in raising awareness about the problem of human trafficking. The workshop, from the 26
th to 30
th April, was conducted by Sr. Melanie O’Connor, the Coordinator of the CTIP at Lumko Institute, Benoni.
Among the attendees were Sr. Florence Msowoya of the Sisters of the Holy Rosary, Fr. Isaiah Nyirenda of the Diocese of Mzuzu, Mr Ephraim Luhanga of the Diocese of Mzuzu, and Chief Kingsley Jere, a Chief in the District of Mzimba in the Northern Malawi. The attendees all spoke of the usefulness of the workshop and how it will help them deal with the problem back in Malawi.
