From Bad To Rock Bottom: Bravos Humiliated, Lose 6-1 To Monterrey
The downward spiral that is the FC Juarez regular season went into a kamikaze tailspin Wednesday evening as Monterrey defeated Los Bravos by the score of 6-1. Simply put, it is extremely difficult to imagine things getting much worse for the Bravos after 9 weeks into the regular season that is 17 weeks long.
In their last 4 matches, the Bravos have allowed a total of 13 goals while only scoring 4. The team’s goal differential for the season is -10.
Wednesday night’s match got off to a rough start as Monterrey hit the crossbar twice in the first minute and forty-three seconds. A little more than 12 minutes later Vincent Janssen scored. Five minutes later Rayados scored again (Arturo Gonzalez 19th minute).
Bravos Look For Quick Turnaround Against Monterrey As Fans Return
Bravos de FC Juarez have no other choice than to turn the page quickly on the what was their most recent defeat Sunday against Santos Laguna as they will have a mid week league match tonight when they host Monterrey at Benito Juarez Olympic Stadium.
This evening’s match will mark a special occasion as for the first time in a year fans will be welcomed back to a Bravos match since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. The stadium will host the FC Juarez faithful at 30 percent capacity.
The Bravos only had a couple of days to prepare for tonight’s match but that will have to do as the pressure is starting to build up for this team to accumulate more points as the first half of the season is wrapping up.
FC Juarez Defeats Mazatlan 1-0
FC Juarez obtained their second victory of this 2021 clausura season when they defeated Mazatlan by the score of 1-0 Friday night at Benito Juarez Olympic Stadium. This was the second win of the season for the Bravos and their first win at home.
The 1-0 final score was result of a closely disputed contest in which both sides were extremely proactive in trying to get the win especially since both teams were coming off of defeats in their previous matches.

Goalkeeper Enrique Palos had three noteworthy saves that allowed the Bravos obtain the 3 points gained for the win, three points that were desperately needed.
Bravos Miss Penalty Kick, Get Second Straight Draw
Bravos de FC Juarez and Xolos de Tijuana played to a scoreless draw Friday night at Benito Juarez Olympic Stadium. The draw gives the Bravos their second point of the season in as many matches. However, also for the second week in a row the Bravos let 2 points slip from their grasp in one single play leaving them to have to settle for the 1 point that comes as a result of a draw.
In a simple analysis the Bravos were the better team over the course of 90 minutes. From the 3rd minute of the match when they created their first real threat on goal, FC Juarez was more of the protagonist on the field of play to aspire to obtain the 3 points.
FC Juarez Squanders Win in Season Opener with Pachuca
What would have been an amazing start to the 2021 Clausura season for FC Juarez ended with an overwhelming sense of “blah”. The Bravos tied with Pachuca by the score of 1-1 in that state of Hidalgo on Monday night in a match that saw Bravos fail to obtain the 3 points awarded for the win after allowing the game equalizer in the final moments of the match.
When you tie in soccer sometimes you feel lucky to have obtained the single point that you are awarded with for the draw, other times you feel like if you did not get a point, but you lost 2. Safe to say, that the latter was the case for FC Juarez in their season opener last night.
