A representative from Pete’s Fresh Market reported Tuesday that the grocery store chain still could not confirm an opening date to Oak Park trustees, despite repeated delays and project extensions.
Oak Park’s village board of trustees unanimously approved the submission of a grant application for more than $1.94 million to provide aid to asylum seekers in the village.
Less than a month after Oak Park’s village board allocated $500,000 in unspent American Rescue Plan Act funding to aid asylum-seekers, the village’s Emergency Operations Center has outlined protocols to send any new arrivals away.
The Oak Park Avenue project is set to include bluestone sidewalks, brick paver streets and colored concrete crosswalks. Oak Park’s village board of trustees approved an agreement with TERRA Engineering, Ltd. and subconsultants to complete the design for the Oak Park Avenue Streetscape and Utility Projects for $998,577.
Oak Park received a total of $38.9 million in ARPA funding to address COVID-19’s impact on the community. It turns out Oak Park still had roughly $4 million in ARPA funds.
