EXPORTS INTRODUCTION The United States government traditionally has done little to promote the exports of U.S. goods and services. The vast internal American market and a rich endowment of resources have enabled the nation to remain relatively self-sufficient. Global events of the past decade, however, have led to dramatic changes represented only 6.6 and 5.9 percent of the U.S. GNP, respectively.
