it also be taken a ltle too far. inhe long r the stock mket does reflecthat s hpening with companies and that largely reflects what s happening in the economy. these week-to-week fluctuations don t tell you a whole lot. central bank story, though, yeah, you have to pay attention to this. if it s the case that the fed reacts to what s happening in the broader economy, if it starts hiking rates and also if the market itself just adapts because if you are worried about inflation, it s the case that people are going to demand higher rates for their money and it does make bonds relatively more attractive to stocks. if people in the stock market are worried about that, that is another plausible reason for what might be happening here. the final reason, right, and this is, i think, the one theory that josh didn t mention here. there are these kind of complicated financial products that just try to invest to limit the volatility in their portfolios. we ve seen stock marks haven t just been goi

as to how expansive that he thinks this criminal investigation will be. he would not talk about the circumstances that led to his memo being released to the public, which suggests he thinks that there s a potential that even his memo is subject of an obstruction of justice case, that the new special counsel may be pursuing. he took pains to tell us that there was going to be no political check on the scope or size of this investigation. and i m trying to take him at his word. what else did you want to hear from him? i guess i was a ltle shocked at how littl he wa able to tell us about the exact nature of the conversations and the construction of the memo that led to comey s fearing. and the reason for that seemed pretty clear. that there is a potential obstruction of justice case surrounding the way comey was fired and he felt he couldn t share those details with us. he said i stand by the memo but
i want you to drop the case. of course i m in a position to continue your employment here as fbi director, so why don t you do what i want you to do and when he doesn t and doesn t drop the case, he fires him. i mean this is a simple drama to people watching it, including, i would bet, your constituents. that s the way people that read the paper see this story developing rather clearly. trump s protecting himself. well, chris, if we re going to talk about courtroom drama, i m going to go back to a show you and i remember, dragnet, where joe friday always started out by saying, just the facts, ma am, just e facts. i think we need to take a ltle bit of a deep breath re. we haven t even heard from jim comey authenticating this memo. we ve heard accounts of people who said they ve read it, and they ve talked to reporters. i want to slow down a little bit, get more of the facts and get the facts of what happened that day in the oval office. now, clearly a contemporaneous note that he wrot
