19-year-old Ben Marklew was loved by so many. Becca Sharp sent this picture in, right, with her tribute “HE was a character that left a lasting impression on everyone he met” was how a devastated family described a Keighley teenager who died after getting into difficulties in a river. Ben Marklew, 19, from Glusburn, an apprentice bricklayer with RN Wooler & Co Ltd, passed away in the River Wharfe at Grassington last Thursday. Mum Sue, dad Paul and sister Ella gave the Telegraph & Argus this heartfelt tribute. It read: “Our beloved son and brother filled his 19 years of life with family, friends, fun and laughter. H&H she asked someone else to show “Oakley” at his first competition, then took him to another local one herself.
“The feedback from that judge was lovely, and he did really well, so I had the adrenaline to keep showing him,” she said. “I really enjoyed it, and he’s such a sweet-natured colt, so I took him out again to a riding club show last weekend.

Robert “Poppop” Francis Knight, 69, of Millsboro passed away Saturday, April 24, 2021, at his home, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born May 26, 1951, in Philadelphia, Pa., son of the late Francis B. and Grace C. (Wust) Knight.
Mr. Knight was a proud veteran, having honorably served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was a faithful employee of Exelon Corp., contributing 36 dedicated years’ service, retiring as a shift foreman. Mr. Knight’s interests were many and varied. He loved the outdoors, particularly fishing and hitting the open road on his Harley-Davidson. Mr. Knight had an affinity for all animals, but especially his pets. He had a fascination with the engineering and function of things, de-constructing and rebuilding all sorts of motors, engines and everyday items. Mr. Knight was also a longtime Friend of Bill W.
