The Louisa County Sheriff’s office was part of a high-speed chase that began on Highway 61 and involved multiple law enforcement agencies which brought two suspects into custody.
Morning Sun, IA- The Louisa County Sheriff's Office has identified the man who died in a semi-truck accident on Saturday, October 1st. According to a news release, on Saturday at about 2:25 PM, Louisa County Dispatch was notified of a semi-truck and loaded trailer accident near 5581 County Road X37 in Morning Sun. The caller said that the semi had rolled over and the driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, had been ejected from the cab. Minutes later, an off-duty EMS provider attempted to assist the injured driver. The driver, who was identified as 61-year-old James Ball of rural Morning Sun, was transported to Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center. Ball would later succumb to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital. The accident remains under investigation by the State Medical Examiner's Office, Iowa DOT, and the Louisa County Sheriff's Office.
