The proposed property tax asking for urban areas is slightly less than $6.64 per $1,000 taxable valuation, while for rural areas the proposed asking is a little above $9.21 per $1,000 taxable valuation.
The three-year contract with Adams that WEMIGA now will operate under had included a 70-cent-per-month increase in the recycling fee each metered water user pays in the city. With the increase, the monthly fee is now $7.40.
When bids for that plan were eventually opened in June 2021, the lowest bid ended up being nearly twice as high as the engineering estimate, which forced the council to ask for another new design.
